Job Description
The Structural Engineer will lead and support design projects related to power generation and delivery infrastructure, including solar, wind, and substation structures, providing technical expertise, project management, and client coordination to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support project teams in design and technical tasks
- Collaborate on project proposals, develop plans, and ensure deliverables meet quality and timelines
- Prepare, review, and finalize technical documents such as site plans, reports, and permit applications
- Implement revisions to plans and documents to ensure compliance with regulations
- Conduct research on zoning requirements, perform site visits, and support project development
- Review survey data, site conditions, and easement documents to assess feasibility
- Utilize engineering software like AutoCAD Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, and PLS-CADD for project assignments
- Manage communications with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies
- Provide project status updates and ensure adherence to project timelines
- Apply engineering principles and industry best practices to deliver high-quality outcomes
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is preferred.
- Eight (8) or more years of experience in structural analysis and design of steel and concrete foundations and platforms for solar PV systems racking and tracking structures, electrical and mechanical equipment, and miscellaneous structures for utility-scale solar projects.
- Experience in structural analysis and design of structures for substation and transmission line projects is preferred.
- Experience working on Utility Scale Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
- Proficiency in using engineering software such as STAAD.Pro, ROBOT, L-PILE, or equivalent software.
- Experience with PLS-POLE, PLS-CADD, FAD TOOLS, or equivalent software is preferred.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
- Registration as a Structural Engineer (SE) is preferred.
- Must have experience in Renewable Energy projects, Substation projects, or Transmission projects.
