Job Description
The Structural Engineer will lead and support design projects related to power generation and delivery infrastructure, including solar and BESS facilities, by performing structural analysis, preparing technical documents, collaborating with clients and teams, and ensuring compliance with regulations in a full-time role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support project teams in design and technical tasks
- Collaborate on project proposals, develop plans, and ensure deliverables meet quality and timelines
- Draft, review, and finalize technical documents such as site plans, reports, and permit applications
- Implement revisions to plans and documents to ensure compliance with regulations
- Conduct research on local zoning requirements and perform site visits and field assessments
- Analyze survey data, site conditions, and easement documents for project feasibility
- Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, and PLS-CADD for project assignments
- Manage communication with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies
- Provide project status updates and ensure project deadlines are met
- Apply engineering principles and industry best practices to deliver high-quality outcomes
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is preferred.
- Eight (8) or more years of experience in structural analysis and design of steel and concrete foundations and platforms for solar PV systems racking and tracking structures, electrical and mechanical equipment, and miscellaneous structures for utility-scale solar projects.
- Experience in structural analysis and design of structures for substation and transmission line projects is preferred.
- Experience working on Utility Scale Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
- Proficiency in using engineering software such as STAAD.Pro, ROBOT, L-PILE, or equivalent software.
- Experience with PLS-POLE, PLS-CADD, FAD TOOLS, or equivalent software is preferred.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
- Registration as a Structural Engineer (SE) is preferred.
- Must have experience in Renewable Energy projects, Substation projects, or Transmission projects.
