Job Description
The Director of Survey leads and manages the survey practice, overseeing technical quality, client relationships, team development, and operational efficiency to support growth and excellence in land surveying services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic plans for the survey group to support growth, technical excellence, and client satisfaction.
- Leverage local relationships to strengthen the company's presence in the region.
- Set standards for quality and consistency in survey deliverables and provide technical oversight.
- Mentor and coach team members to develop their technical and leadership skills.
- Build and maintain client relationships based on trust and responsiveness.
- Collaborate with engineering, planning, and environmental teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Oversee budgets, schedules, invoicing, and profitability for the survey group.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry practices to promote innovation.
- Represent the survey practice at professional events and within the community.
Requirements
- Professional Survey License in Delaware (preference for additional state license credentials)
- Extensive experience in land surveying with progressive leadership responsibilities
- Strong local relationships and a respected presence in the regional survey and land development community
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage operations, and deliver projects successfully
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Technical expertise in survey principles, standards, and technologies
- Business acumen with a track record of contributing to growth and profitability
