Job Description
The Director of Civil Engineering for Land Development is responsible for leading regional land development projects, managing a team of engineers, driving business development efforts, and ensuring successful project delivery within the Cleveland, OH area and the Great Lakes Region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of civil engineers and support staff
- Oversee planning, design, and execution of land development projects
- Develop and implement regional strategies for growth and profitability
- Drive business development efforts to expand market presence and secure new projects
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proposals and negotiations
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences
- Ensure successful delivery of land development projects from inception to completion
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in civil engineering, focusing on land development commercial and/or single-family detached (SFD) projects
- Proven track record in business development and client relationship management
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strategic thinking ability to develop and execute long-term plans
