Job Description
The Construction Project Manager for Renewables at Atwell oversees the technical and operational aspects of large-scale renewable energy projects, ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery through coordination with engineering teams, stakeholders, and on-site construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Owner's Engineering services, integrating technical, environmental, scheduling, and document control functions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams across disciplines to ensure deliverable alignment and consistency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with owners, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to support transparency and project coordination.
- Oversee documentation workflows, including drawing reviews, comment resolution, and recordkeeping to support decision-making.
- Track project milestones, update schedules, and support budget adherence by identifying and mitigating risks.
- Prepare and present project updates, risk assessments, and performance metrics to project leadership.
- Ensure all OE activities comply with environmental regulations, design standards, and client expectations.
- Capture lessons learned and develop recommendations for process improvements across projects.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the construction of utility-scale renewable energy projects, including at least some of civil, structural, mechanical, and/or electrical DC, MV, HV construction work.
- Experience with renewable energy major equipment types such as PV modules, solar trackers, inverters, MV transformers, substations, MPT GSU transformers, and a plus battery storage modules, instrumentation, SCADA.
- Proven experience in construction project management, quality management, and safety management practices.
- Experience with construction document management systems and construction management software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain throughout employment a valid US Driver’s License.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain throughout employment an OSHA 30-Hour Construction Training certificate.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain throughout employment an NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace certificate.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain throughout employment a First Aid, CPR, and AED certificate.
- Ability to engage directly and professionally with Atwell clients and all parties on site.
- Ability to work at client project sites long term, anywhere in the continental United States, including Texas and Illinois.
- Ability to work outdoors in all seasons and under all safe weather conditions.
- Ability to safely drive and walk around a construction site while avoiding all hazards.
