Job Description
This role involves collaborating on civil engineering projects by preparing site plans, analyzing survey data, providing technical reports, supporting construction activities, and mentoring junior staff, with opportunities for professional growth into project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Project Managers to draft, review, and finalize site plans and construction documents
- Analyze survey data and existing site conditions, including legal descriptions, easements, and survey reports
- Guide and assist junior staff to ensure accurate and efficient task execution
- Prepare technical reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology studies and storm sewer reports
- Provide construction support through permit applications, quantity estimates, and project implementation
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to complete assignments on time and within budget
- Develop project management skills through training and mentoring for potential career advancement
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- EIT (Engineer in Training) certification required
- 3 or more years of related experience in civil engineering
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and various engineering software packages
- Ability to assist in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing preliminary and final site plans and construction documents
- Experience analyzing project survey data, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents
- Ability to prepare reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology hydraulic studies, project schedules, and storm sewer reports
- Experience providing construction-related services including permit applications and quantity estimates
- Ability to collaborate with Project Managers and guide junior staff
- Strong technical skills in civil engineering practices and software
- Willingness to develop Project Manager skills through training and mentoring with the potential to grow into a Project Manager role
