Job Description

A civil engineering professional responsible for collaborating on site plans, analyzing survey data, providing technical reports, supporting construction activities, and mentoring junior staff, with opportunities for career growth into project management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to draft, review, and finalize site plans and construction documents
  • Analyze survey data and existing site conditions, including legal descriptions, easements, and surveys
  • Guide and assist junior staff to ensure accurate and efficient completion of project tasks
  • Prepare technical reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology studies and storm sewer reports
  • Provide construction support, including permit applications and quantity estimates
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to complete assignments on time and within budget
  • Develop project management skills through training and mentoring with potential to advance to Project Manager

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Six (6) or more years of related experience in civil engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and various engineering software packages
  • Ability to collaborate closely with Project Managers in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing preliminary and final site plans and construction documents
  • Experience analyzing project survey data, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents
  • Ability to guide and assist junior staff to ensure project-based tasks are executed accurately and efficiently
  • Capability to prepare a wide range of reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology hydraulic studies, project schedules, and storm sewer reports
  • Experience providing construction support services, including permit applications and quantity estimates
  • Strong technical skills in engineering to support project development and construction activities
  • Ability to assist in developing Project Manager skills through training and mentoring with the potential to grow into a Project Manager role
