Job Description
A civil engineering professional responsible for collaborating on site plans, analyzing survey data, mentoring junior staff, preparing technical reports, supporting construction activities, and utilizing engineering software, with opportunities for career growth into project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Project Managers to draft, review, and finalize site plans and construction documents
- Analyze survey data and existing site conditions, including legal descriptions, easements, and surveys
- Guide and assist junior staff to ensure accurate and efficient project task execution
- Prepare technical reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology studies and storm sewer reports
- Provide construction support, including permit applications and quantity estimates
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to complete assignments on time and within budget
- Develop project management skills through training and mentoring for potential career growth
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Six (6) or more years of related experience in civil engineering projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and various engineering software packages
- Ability to assist in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing preliminary and final site plans and construction documents
- Experience analyzing project survey data, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents
- Ability to prepare reports, opinions, and recommendations related to hydrology hydraulic studies, project schedules, storm sewer reports, and other technical documents
- Experience providing construction support services, including permit applications and quantity estimates
- Ability to collaborate closely with Project Managers and assist in guiding junior staff
- Strong technical skills in civil engineering with the ability to execute project tasks accurately and efficiently
- Willingness to develop Project Manager skills through training and mentoring with the potential to grow into a Project Manager role
