Job Description
The role involves designing and managing land development projects, including site layout, utility, roadway, and drainage design, as well as preparing permits, cost estimates, and supporting project proposals, while collaborating with clients and team members to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop land development projects including site layout, utility, roadway, grading, and stormwater management.
- Prepare permit applications and assist with regulatory compliance and entitlement processes.
- Conduct feasibility studies, master planning, and engineering design for water, sanitary, and storm sewer systems.
- Estimate project costs, prepare design calculations, and develop project specifications.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and support construction activities.
- Mentor and delegate tasks to Staff Engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and billing, ensuring timely project completion.
- Represent the firm professionally at client and municipal meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in land development or related engineering fields.
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Strong understanding of local governmental public and private development codes.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Outstanding writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be fluent in the English language.
- Physical ability to sit and talk or hear frequently, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.
- Ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds frequently and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work outside in weather conditions occasionally for extended periods.
