Job Description

This position involves collaborating on renewable energy site design projects, primarily focusing on ground-mounted solar arrays and battery energy storage systems, utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering tools to develop site plans, conduct analyses, prepare reports, and assist with project coordination and permitting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design renewable energy site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, focusing on ground-mounted solar arrays and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
  • Prepare conceptual grading analyses and site layouts.
  • Conduct due diligence site analysis reports, cost estimates, utility computations, stormwater reports, and earthwork analysis.
  • Assist in producing final construction drawings and preparing permit applications for municipal agencies.
  • Collaborate with project team members and other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  • Attend client and public meetings, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Support project managers and client communication related to specific projects.
  • Participate in business development efforts as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • 0-4 years related experience in engineering or a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a variety of people.
  • Ability to respond quickly and accurately under pressure.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in the English language.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends to complete projects as necessary.
  • Physical ability to frequently sit and talk or hear, occasionally stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Physical ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to perform specific vision tasks including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
