Job Description
This position involves supporting project design teams in civil engineering tasks such as site layout, utility and roadway design, stormwater management, permitting, and construction support, primarily using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software, while mentoring junior staff and ensuring project deadlines are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project design teams with technical tasks such as site layout, utility, roadway, and stormwater design
- Prepare conceptual grading analyses, site layouts, and related reports using software like SiteOps and Civil 3D
- Assist in preparing permit applications, project specifications, and final construction drawings
- Conduct site analysis, earthwork calculations, and stormwater management computations
- Ensure timely project completion, assist with project schedules, and monitor workload
- Mentor and train staff engineers and interns
- Maintain client relationships and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in marketing, sales, and business development activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
- Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification or Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Valid driver s license
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- Excellent oral and technical written communication skills
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Availability to work nights and weekends to complete a project as necessary
- Ability to make independent decisions within a general framework
- Experience in preparing conceptual grading analyses and site layout using SiteOps Software
- Experience in preparing and computing due diligence site analysis reports, engineers opinion of probable costs, utility computations, detention retention computations, storm water reports, earthwork analysis
- Experience in preparing permit applications for applicable municipal agencies
- Experience in assisting with the preparation of project specifications and production of final construction drawings
- Experience in maintaining accurate timesheets and submitting them on time
- Experience in mentoring and assisting with training other Staff Engineers and Interns
- Ability to maintain good relationships with clients
- Ability to work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
- Ability to assist with project schedules and ensure timely completion of projects
- Ability to keep supervisor informed of workload and project scope changes
- Ability to provide accurate accounting of time spent on projects with detailed descriptions
- Willingness to participate in marketing, sales, and business development efforts when requested
- Physical ability to frequently sit and talk or hear, occasionally stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Willingness to work in outside weather conditions occasionally for extended periods

Compensation range: $64,000 - $74,000 USD
