Job Description
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the monthly closing process by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, analyzing variances, and assisting with financial statements and audits in an entry-level role within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Reconcile company bank and credit card accounts
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries accurately and on time
- Reconcile balance sheet and expense accounts for month-end close
- Analyze account activity and explain variances to budget forecasts
- Prepare legal entity financial statements
- Assist in the preparation of reports for government, audit, bank, and management
- Support the annual audit process
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Basic understanding of the business to ensure that the monthly journal entries are accurate
- Ability to reconcile company bank and credit card accounts
- Ability to prepare and post various monthly journal entries timely and accurately
- Ability to reconcile various balance sheet and expense accounts timely in support of month end close
- Ability to analyze account activity to ensure accurately stated and explain variances to budget forecast
- Ability to prepare legal entity financial statements
- Ability to prepare various reports for government, audit, bank, and management
- Ability to assist in annual audit
- Experience using an ERP system, with Epicor experience considered a plus
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, including Pivot tables and Lookups
- Curious personality that wants to learn new things
- Ability to communicate well with other team members
Benefits & Perks
Salary range: $60,000 - $70,000
