Job Description

The Quality Engineer is responsible for managing and improving quality systems, overseeing product inspections, handling customer quality issues, conducting audits, and supporting manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure product quality and compliance within the Powertronix Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Quality Assurance Program for the Powertronix Business Unit
  • Coordinate customer audits, process validations, and quality deliverables
  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001
  • Inspect, test, and release finished products and incoming raw materials
  • Handle nonconforming materials, customer returns, RMAs, SCARs, and complaints
  • Prepare reports such as CAR/PAR and communicate with relevant parties
  • Perform internal audits and maintain audit records
  • Manage quality-related customer requests, including audits and surveys
  • Oversee training systems and records related to quality
  • Support engineering and purchasing in supplier and contract manufacturer evaluations
  • Gather and review global KPIs related to delivery, field failures, safety, and first pass yield

Requirements

  • Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance within a manufacturing or assembly environment, preferably related to electronic products.
  • Hold an ME, EE, or Technical School Degree with equivalent experience in Quality.
  • Have knowledge and experience in Quality Assurance practices and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Be knowledgeable in the assembly and manufacturing of electronic products.
  • Have experience using electrical test equipment and mechanical measuring devices.
  • Be proficient in computer operations necessary to run spreadsheets and SPC-related software.
  • Be responsible for overseeing the Quality Assurance Program for the Powertronix Business Unit, including coordinating customer audits, process validations, product field issues, materials compliance certificates, and other customer quality deliverables.
  • Be responsible for changing, maintaining, and continually improving the Powertronix Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Inspect, test, and release finished products from manufacturing to ship to customers, and inspect and release incoming raw materials.
  • Handle all nonconforming materials and products, customer returns RMAs, SCARs, and other customer complaints from initiation to completion, including preparing reports such as CAR, PAR, and communicating with relevant parties.
  • Perform internal audits and maintain internal and external audit records.
  • Support engineering and purchasing in supplier and contract manufacturer (CM) selections and evaluations.
  • Gather and produce monthly reviews of global KPIs such as on-time delivery, field failures, safety, and first pass yield.
  • Coordinate, maintain, update, and oversee the training system and training records.
  • Support quality-related requests from customers, including onsite or desktop audits and quality questionnaires or surveys.
  • Communicate product concepts and attributes effectively to customers, engineering, sales, and marketing in English, demonstrating strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate creative thinking, decision-making, and solid problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset.
