Job Description
The Sr. Electrical Engineer at Astrodyne TDI is responsible for designing and developing advanced power conversion systems, leading testing and verification processes, collaborating on mechanical aspects, and providing technical support to ensure the creation of reliable, high-performance electronic power products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop advanced power conversion systems and products
- Create electrical circuit schematics and part lists
- Conduct component stress analyses and compute MTBF
- Lead debug and design verification testing of prototypes
- Collaborate on mechanical design aspects of products
- Oversee product reliability testing
- Manage creation and maintenance of engineering documentation
- Coordinate with NPI team for project transfers and testing
- Provide technical support during sales bidding and product development
- Deliver technical presentations to management and staff
- Mentor and train junior engineering team members
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least five years of experience in development activities focused on electronic power conversion products, including a proven track record with switch-mode power supply designs.
- Proficiency in design tools such as PSpice and Mathcad.
- Experience in resolving EMC issues.
- Experience in high-frequency magnetic component design and microcontroller circuits for power electronics.
- Ability to create detailed electrical circuit schematic diagrams and part lists.
- Ability to conduct component stress analyses and compute Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF).
- Experience in leading debug testing and design verification testing of prototypes.
- Experience in overseeing product reliability assurance testing.
- Experience in managing the creation and maintenance of essential engineering documentation.
- Experience working with the New Product Introduction team to ensure smooth project transfers and testing phases.
- Ability to provide technical support to the sales team during the bidding process.
- Ability to interact with marketing on new product development.
- Ability to deliver technical presentations to management and technical staff.
- Strong leadership capabilities to drive project tasks and ensure timely execution.
