Job Description
The Sr. Electrical Engineer at Astrodyne TDI is responsible for designing and developing advanced power conversion systems, leading testing and verification processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing technical support to ensure the creation of reliable, high-performance electronic power products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop advanced power conversion systems and products
- Create electrical circuit schematics and part lists
- Conduct component stress analyses and calculate MTBF
- Lead debug and design verification testing of prototypes
- Collaborate on mechanical design aspects of products
- Oversee product reliability testing
- Manage creation and maintenance of engineering documentation
- Coordinate with NPI team for project transfers and testing
- Provide technical support during sales bidding and product development
- Deliver technical presentations to management and staff
- Mentor and train junior engineering team members
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least five years of experience in development activities focused on electronic power conversion products, including a proven track record with switch-mode power supply designs.
- Proficiency in design tools such as PSpice and Mathcad.
- Experience in resolving EMC issues.
- Experience in high-frequency magnetic component design and microcontroller circuits for power electronics (preferred but not mandatory).
- Experience with agency compliance standards such as UL, CSA, VDE, CE (preferred but not mandatory).
- Experience with battery management and charging systems (preferred but not mandatory).
- Strong leadership capabilities to drive project tasks and ensure timely execution.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
