Job Description
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring products and processes meet quality standards through inspections, troubleshooting, and implementing corrective actions, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain product safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct First Article Inspections on internal and external products
- Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics
- Investigate and troubleshoot product or production issues
- Develop and implement corrective actions and process improvements
- Assist in conducting Quality Management System audits
- Participate in in-process, final, and customer-related inspections
- Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to develop controls and improvements
- Analyze customer feedback and implement manufacturing changes as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related technical field (B.S or B.A.), with a preference for Electronics Engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience in a technical engineering-based role.
- Understanding of ISO 13485 and AS9100 quality management standards.
- Background in assembly manufacturing, preferably in power supplies or other related Electro-Mechanical operations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Proficiency in MS Suite, Internet Browsers, ERP systems, and experience using Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
- Strong knowledge of Electronic Assembly Acceptability standards such as IPC 610, IPC 620, SAE, ANSI, or JSTD-001.
- Experience with problem-solving tools including fishbone diagrams, 5S, 8D, visual factory design, and FMEA.
- Ability to conduct First Article Inspections on internal and externally manufactured products.
- Ability to monitor and analyze quality performance data.
- Ability to investigate and troubleshoot product or production issues.
- Ability to develop corrective actions, solutions, and process improvements.
- Ability to assist in the closure of customer-related issues and conduct Quality Management System audits as per schedule.
- Experience with In-process, DMIR, and Final Inspection activities.
- Ability to collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to develop and implement controls and improvements.
- Ability to analyze customer feedback, maintain records, and implement manufacturing changes when necessary.
- Strong technical writing skills and the ability to explain complex issues clearly and concisely.
- Ability to develop design-related testing to identify product durability and areas of weakness.
- Ability to set and deliver on specific goals and targets.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to ensure processes and products meet established quality standards.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong team-building skills in dealing with peers and other functional areas.
Benefits & Perks
Salary range: $90,000 - $110,000
