Job Description
An Engineering Technician at Astrodyne TDI supports product development by assembling prototypes, performing testing and troubleshooting EMI RF filters and PDUs, and collaborating with engineers to ensure successful design and transfer to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble electrical systems, including Power Distribution Units and EMI RF filter prototypes, according to specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to define and solve product development problems.
- Troubleshoot prototype EMI RF filters and PDUs to identify potential failure trends.
- Create and implement test plans for prototypes and conduct EMC baseline testing, coordinating with external labs as needed.
- Generate test reports and document assembly processes, techniques, and layout details.
- Assist in transferring final products from prototype to production.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Experience with Electrical Engineering concepts and work with electronic test equipment such as Oscilloscope and Digital Multimeter (DMM)
- Hands-on mechanical experience
- Ability to crimp a variety of connectors
- Basic understanding of soldering wires, connectors, and ideally PCB components
- Experience with general understanding of torquing hardware and how to use various hand tools
- Ability to read and understand schematics and assembly drawings
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot various electrical system topologies based on available information
