Job Description
The Engineering Technician supports the design, testing, assembly, and validation of electrical components and systems, working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure quality and continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble electrical and electronic systems, components, and prototypes
- Maintain and organize the engineering test and assembly laboratory
- Set up, operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair test equipment
- Perform inspections and quality control on products and components
- Support engineers in developing drawings, wiring diagrams, test instructions, and specifications
- Analyze nonconforming materials and products, prepare reports, and communicate findings
- Participate in knowledge transfer activities, including site visits for testing and inspection
- Source materials for R&D projects and prototypes
- Assist in maintaining ISO documentation, test records, and lab equipment logs
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Associate Degree, Technical Diploma, Certificate in Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience with at least 4 years of relevant experience in assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical or electronic systems.
- Strong background and experience in assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical or electronic systems.
- Proficient in the use of electrical test equipment, diagnostic tools, and mechanical measuring devices.
- Proficient in computer operations, including MS Office Word, Excel, and basic engineering software.
- Ability to support engineers in developing 2D and 3D drawings, wiring diagrams, test instructions, and specifications.
- Ability to perform inspection of products and components for quality control and release them for next operations.
- Ability to organize, maintain, and oversee the engineering test and assembly laboratory.
- Ability to set up and operate test equipment to evaluate the performance of parts, assemblies, or complete systems.
- Ability to calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical instruments and test equipment.
- Ability to analyze nonconforming materials and products, prepare reports, and communicate findings to appropriate parties.
- Ability to source materials for R&D projects and prototype development.
- Ability to support continuous improvement activities and assist in maintaining ISO documentation, test records, and lab equipment logs in accordance with internal processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across Engineering, Quality, Operations, and other functional teams.
- Must be proactive, enthusiastic, self-driven, and able to work with a dynamic team.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Fluency in writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Ability to travel domestically as required (up to 5%).
