The Benefits Administrator manages employee health and welfare benefit programs, including enrollments, vendor relationships, and compliance with regulations, while supporting leave of absence processes and employee communications.
Key Responsibilities
Manage employee health and welfare benefit programs, ensuring compliance and effective delivery
Serve as the primary contact for benefits vendors, carriers, and broker partners
Administer benefits enrollment processes, including new hire onboarding, qualifying events, and open enrollment
Present and explain benefit offerings to employees during orientation and enrollment periods
Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits with professionalism and accuracy
Coordinate and administer leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, and Workers Compensation
Review medical documentation to determine leave eligibility and accommodations while maintaining HIPAA compliance
Manage benefits administration audits, reporting, invoice reconciliation, and HRIS testing for accuracy and compliance
Prepare and submit benefits-related compliance reports such as BLS filings
Support workplace safety initiatives as HR Lead for the Safety Committee
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
At least 4 years of experience in benefits administration, preferably managing health and welfare benefit programs.
Experience managing benefits enrollments, vendor relationships, and open enrollment processes.
Strong working knowledge of U.S. benefits regulations and compliance requirements, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, and FMLA.
Experience working with HRIS systems, ideally ADP, for enrollment, reporting, and audits.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other business systems used for benefits tracking and reporting.
Experience administering leave of absence programs including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and Workers Compensation.
Ability to interpret medical documentation and regulatory guidelines when supporting leave administration.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Responsibility for managing and coordinating all aspects of benefits enrollment, including new hire enrollment, qualifying life events, and annual open enrollment.
Responsibility for managing and administering disability and leave of absence programs, providing end-to-end case management for FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation, USERRA, pregnancy-related leaves, and other applicable programs.
Responsibility for reviewing and interpreting medical documentation to determine leave eligibility and appropriate accommodations, ensuring HIPAA compliance and employee privacy.
Responsibility for conducting benefits administration audits, reporting, invoice reconciliation, tracking, and HRIS system testing to ensure plan accuracy and compliance.
Responsibility for preparing and submitting BLS and other required benefits-related compliance reporting.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all benefits vendors, carriers, and broker partners, managing relationships and issue resolution.
Lead and administer all company health and welfare benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and AD&D plans, ensuring effective delivery and compliance.
Serve as HR Lead for the Safety Committee, supporting alignment of workplace safety initiatives with HR and regulatory standards.
