Job Description
The role involves leading client projects related to power market analysis, resource planning, and asset valuation using advanced analytics tools, while managing a team of analysts and providing strategic guidance on energy market trends and grid integration for a clean tech software company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver client-facing projects on resource planning, asset valuation, and risk analytics using the PowerSIMM platform
- Serve as a subject matter expert on wholesale power markets, resource adequacy, ISO RTO operations, and emerging grid planning trends
- Provide strategic guidance to clients on market risks, procurement, and long-term resource strategies
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and internal coordination to ensure timely and high-quality execution
- Identify opportunities for value-added services and product enhancements
- Mentor and develop a team of Analysts through coaching and feedback
- Collaborate with product, software, and analytics teams to improve client experience
- Contribute to business development and thought leadership activities
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in power markets, resource planning, or project development for a utility, retailer, power producer, developer, or CCA.
- Demonstrated project management and client delivery experience.
- Experience mentoring or supervising team members, ideally in a consulting or fast-paced environment.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in the energy sector, including leadership of cross-functional teams or client delivery groups.
- Proven success leading client engagements and guiding strategic decision-making.
- At least 5 years of experience managing a team of 3 or more staff.
- Strong understanding of production cost modeling, capacity expansion modeling, and resource adequacy.
- Deep knowledge of ISO RTO markets and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a client-first mindset.
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills, with familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- High emotional intelligence and a collaborative, adaptable leadership style.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation salary range: Manager $140,000-$170,000; Director $180,000-$210,000 (negotiable based on qualifications and experience)
