Job Description
The Senior Energy Analyst supports decision analysis for renewable and battery project development, providing expertise in energy markets, asset valuation, risk management, and market operations to help clients optimize renewable energy integration and trading strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead quantitative analysis and deliver timely results to clients
- Model electricity markets to support trading activities
- Provide expertise in asset valuation, risk management, and renewable integration
- Analyze energy commodity trading and market operations
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on market strategies
- Support real-time market operations and system reliability through on-call rotations
- Develop innovative approaches to represent analysis results for decision-making
- Create clear reports and presentations from complex data
- Perform in-depth analysis of power market operations
- Solve complex analytic problems to inform energy supply decisions
- Serve as a technical resource for project scoping, deployment, and launch activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in economics, engineering, or energy is required.
- A minimum of 1 year of prior experience in energy analysis or related field.
- For Senior Analyst position, at least 5 years of prior work experience in energy with a utility, consulting firm, government, or non-profit organization focused on energy.
- Understanding of energy modeling systems and methods.
- Command of wholesale power market structures and value streams.
- Demonstrated track record of working with clients and team members.
- Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, teamwork skills, organization, and work ethics.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and problem solve with minimum supervision.
- Strong analytical skills in analyzing and explaining complex data.
- Proficiency with fundamental modeling of electricity markets in support of electricity trading.
- Ability to assimilate complex information into readily understood reports and presentations.
- Experience in providing expertise in analytic modeling for asset valuation, risk management, and renewable integration.
- Experience monitoring regulatory changes and assessing their impact on market operations and strategies.
- Ability to support real-time market operations and ensure system reliability through participation in on-call rotations.
- Ability to devise new approaches to represent results that support decision analysis.
- Experience solving complex analytic problems to make mission-critical decisions for energy supply.
- Ability to serve as a technical resource for scoping, building, deploying, and launching activities.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: 80,000 - 95,000 USD for Energy Analyst, 95,000 - 125,000 USD for Senior Analyst, negotiable based on qualifications and experience
