Job Description
The Hands-On Director of Engineering at Ascend Analytics leads a team in developing scalable software solutions for the clean energy market, focusing on architecture, performance, and innovation to support electric grid transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of the SmartBidder application.
- Implement and refine development strategies to ensure quality and reliability.
- Drive performance, stability, and scalability of full-stack software solutions.
- Communicate with stakeholders to understand user experience requirements.
- Review and advise on system architecture and technology platform choices.
- Own product delivery, including coordinating releases, support rotations, and incident response.
- Support and promote best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Manage and mentor a team of developers, providing guidance, feedback, and code reviews.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of technical management experience.
- At least 8 years of experience as a back-end or full stack software engineer.
- Bachelor's degree (BS) or Master's degree (MS) in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Information Science, or related fields.
- Strong proficiency in Python and at least one other programming language such as Java, C++, Ruby, Rust, or Julia.
- Familiarity with data processing libraries such as Pandas, Numpy, and Scikit-Learn.
- Ability to support complex technical issues and critical customer outages during their times of need.
- Experience in full-stack application design and development of RESTful web services.
- Exposure to cloud computing platforms such as Azure and AWS.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation salary range: 180,000 - 210,000 USD, negotiable based on qualifications and experience
