Job Description
A Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for leading the design and analysis of rotors and casings for turbomachinery in a supercritical CO₂ power cycle, focusing on conceptual design, material selection, structural analysis, and ensuring reliable, high-performance operation under demanding conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and analysis of rotors and casings for turbomachinery in a supercritical CO₂ power cycle
- Perform conceptual design and select assembly architecture for turbomachinery components
- Select appropriate materials for turbomachinery components
- Conduct structural analysis to ensure high-performance and reliable operation under demanding conditions
- Design bolted joints and seals for turbomachinery
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermomechanical analysis of components
- Apply creep analysis and rotordynamics expertise to ensure component durability and stability
Requirements
- Experience in leading the design and analysis of rotors and casings for turbomachinery in a supercritical CO₂-based power cycle.
- Proficiency in conceptual design, assembly architecture selection, material selection, and structural analysis to ensure high-performance, reliable operation under demanding conditions.
- Expertise in bolted joint and seal design.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA).
- Experience with thermomechanical analysis.
- Preferred experience in creep analysis.
- Preferred experience in rotordynamics.
