Job Description

A Tax Manager role at a fast-growing CPA and advisory firm responsible for helping clients optimize their tax opportunities, leading tax projects, and contributing to the firm's growth within a collaborative and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee client tax engagements and compliance processes
  • Provide tax planning and consulting services to clients
  • Supervise and review work of staff and junior team members
  • Ensure adherence to tax laws and regulations
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to maximize client opportunities

Requirements

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in tax, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role overseeing tax engagements and staff.
  • Hold a valid CPA license or equivalent certification recognized in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations relevant to clients' industries.
  • Have experience preparing, reviewing, and managing complex tax returns and related tax planning strategies for various client types.
  • Possess strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team of tax professionals effectively.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients and team members professionally.
  • Be proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Have the ability to analyze and interpret financial data and tax regulations to provide strategic tax advice.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and staying current with changes in tax laws and industry best practices.
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree or additional certifications such as Enrolled Agent (EA) are a plus.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Be willing to work full-time, with the flexibility to adapt to remote or hybrid working arrangements as required.
