Job Description
This internship offers hands-on experience in tax and audit services, allowing students to work with diverse clients, develop technical skills, and participate in professional development activities within a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tax services including planning, consulting, and compliance for multiple clients
- Interact with clients to provide tailored tax strategies
- Work with partners to develop and implement innovative tax planning strategies
- Assist in improving clients' financial reporting capabilities and internal controls
- Evaluate accounting issues and stay updated on new accounting regulations
- Help clients assess the quality of their financial information for strategic decision-making
- Collaborate with audit teams to mitigate financial and business risks for clients
- Support efforts to identify operational efficiencies and improve internal processes
Requirements
- Candidates must be high-potential accounting students interested in Audit and Tax.
- Candidates must want to continue Aprio's standard of excellence and be willing to dive straight into hands-on accounting projects.
- Candidates must be available to participate in the Spring 2027 internship from January to April or the Summer 2027 internship from June to August.
- Candidates must be willing to work in the Portland, OR office.
- Candidates must have the ability to work with small, medium, and large clients and benefit from a diverse client base.
- Candidates must be able to interact closely with clients to provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance services, and work closely with partners on delivering tax planning strategies.
- Candidates must be able to work with businesses to improve financial reporting capabilities, internal controls, evaluate accounting issues, and stay ahead of new accounting regulations.
- Candidates must be able to work with companies to assess the quality of information used for strategic business decisions and identify areas for operational improvements.
- Candidates must be able to work with and form relationships with middle to large-sized audit and tax clients.
- Candidates must be able to work with diverse and energetic teams within the audit and tax departments.
- Candidates must be willing to participate in a group project involving volunteering and social impact as part of the internship program.
