Job Description
A senior hands-on product designer responsible for shaping and elevating the design of Amber's innovative energy solutions, working on strategically important projects to improve renewable energy access and usage, and driving high-quality design decisions across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and shape the design direction for Amber's most strategic opportunities
- Elevate design quality and ensure clarity in ambiguous problem spaces
- Influence and inspire cross-functional teams through expert craft and product judgment
- Work on complex product challenges to improve user experience and product impact
- Drive consistency and excellence in design across multiple product streams
Requirements
- A highly experienced, hands-on design leader with exceptional craft and product judgment.
- Experience working as the most senior individual contributor (IC) designer in a team, working on strategically important opportunities.
- Ability to work across ambiguous problem spaces, shaping direction, elevating quality, and driving clarity.
- Proven ability to lead through influence and example, not management.
- Thrives on complex product challenges and is energized by lifting the quality of craft and decision-making across a growing organization.
- Full-time availability to work ideally from Melbourne, Australia, or be based anywhere within Australia with full working rights.
- Experience working in a flexible work environment, with the ability to work between office and home, preferably in Melbourne or Sydney, or remotely within Australia.
- Experience in product design, including skills in user experience (UX), user interface (UI), and interaction design.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to high-impact product opportunities, particularly in energy, renewable technology, or related sectors (implied by the role's focus).
