Job Description
A senior-level hands-on Product Designer responsible for shaping strategic product opportunities, elevating design quality, and driving clarity in complex, ambiguous problem spaces to support Amber's mission of accelerating renewable energy adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and shape the design direction for Amber's most strategically important opportunities.
- Elevate design quality and ensure clarity in ambiguous problem spaces.
- Influence and inspire cross-functional teams through expert craft and product judgment.
- Work on complex product challenges to improve user experience and product impact.
Requirements
- A highly experienced, hands-on design leader with exceptional craft and product judgment, working as the most senior IC designer in the team on Amber's most strategically important opportunities.
- Ability to work across ambiguous problem spaces, shaping direction, elevating quality, and driving clarity without being confined to a single product stream.
- Experience leading through influence and example rather than management, thriving on complex product challenges, and lifting the quality of craft and decision-making across a growing organization.
- Full-time availability to work ideally from Melbourne, with flexibility for remote work within Australia, including occasional in-person meetings in Sydney or other locations as needed.
- Candidates must already be based in Australia with full working rights, and applications from candidates outside Australia will not be considered.
- Participation in a structured hiring process including a screening interview with the talent team, an introductory call with the hiring manager, a take-home case study assignment, a follow-up case study interview with two cross-functional team members, and a final cultural interview with one or two members of the Executive Leadership team.
