Job Description

The Payroll Officer will manage and process payroll for the company's Australian and UK employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payments, while handling employee queries and maintaining payroll records in a part-time, flexible capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Australian and UK payroll via HRIS Rippling
  • Process employment changes and updates
  • Respond to employee pay queries and manage payroll inbox
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with employment, tax, and superannuation laws
  • Collaborate with the People Operations and Finance teams to ensure smooth payroll operations

Requirements

  • The candidate must be an experienced payroll professional who enjoys being the quiet engine room that keeps everything running smoothly.
  • The candidate must be comfortable working autonomously and take real pride in getting the details right.
  • The candidate must have likely managed end-to-end Australian payrolls before, possibly across multiple entities or states.
  • The candidate must know their way around an HRIS system, specifically Rippling.
  • The candidate must be organized, dependable, and have a calm, friendly approach that puts people at ease when they come with payroll questions.
  • The candidate must be able to manage the Australian and UK payroll via HRIS Rippling, process employment changes, and maintain Rippling's records.
  • The candidate must respond to employee pay queries and ensure compliance with employment, tax, and superannuation legislation in Australia and the UK.
  • The candidate must be based in Australia and have full working rights to be eligible for the role.
  • The candidate must be seeking part-time work, ideally 2 to 3 days per week (0.4-0.6 FTE).
  • The candidate must be able to work remotely, with flexibility to work from home or co-working spaces, and be based anywhere in Australia.
