Job Description
A Full Stack Software Engineer at Amber will develop and support energy management technologies, including home automation, mobile apps, and real-time energy pricing systems, to optimize renewable energy usage and support the company's mission to accelerate the transition to renewable energy sources.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support home automation integrations for batteries, hot water systems, pool pumps, and upcoming EVs.
- Create and maintain mobile web applications for customers to monitor and manage their energy usage.
- Build and enhance a real-time pricing and billing engine for energy pricing.
- Contribute across the full technology stack, including React Native, React, AWS Lambda, Typescript, GraphQL, DynamoDB, Postgres, and Snowflake.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of scalable and reliable software solutions.
Requirements
- Experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer with the ability to work across multiple layers of the technology stack, including front-end, back-end, and integrations.
- Proficiency in React Native for mobile app development and some experience with React web frontends.
- Strong knowledge of TypeScript for development across the entire stack.
- Experience working with a Serverless Lambda backend on AWS.
- Experience with Apollo GraphQL in the middle layer of the application architecture.
- Experience working with data storage solutions such as DynamoDB, Postgres, and Snowflake, and the ability to select the appropriate database for specific workloads.
- Ability to develop and support home automation integrations to batteries, hot water systems, pool pumps, and EVs, including control of electricity usage based on pricing and renewable availability.
- Experience developing mobile web apps for customers to monitor and manage their energy usage.
- Experience developing pricing and billing engines for real-time energy pricing.
- Full-time availability and the ability to work ideally from the UK, Ireland, Germany, or anywhere within Europe, with flexibility for remote and co-working arrangements.
- Applicants must have full working rights in the UK or Europe region.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable interacting with people as well as writing code.
- Ability to contribute to a team environment and chip in across different parts of the tech stack as needed.
