Job Description
A Software Engineer in Test II at AlertMedia is responsible for developing and executing testing strategies, automating tests, and ensuring the quality and robustness of the company's products through manual and automated testing, while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and document testing activities including test planning, execution, automation, defect tracking, and release management.
- Automate tests to prevent software regressions and perform manual testing on web and mobile platforms.
- Document software defects, report issues to developers, and monitor bug resolution.
- Conduct exploratory and load testing to ensure product robustness.
- Collaborate with engineering and customer success teams to troubleshoot issues and determine effective test coverage.
Requirements
- 4 years of experience in a QA Testing role, preferably as a thought-leader or mentor on a team
- Experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Gherkin, etc.
- Web browser UI automation testing experience written in Python or JavaScript
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as git, pipelines, Jenkins, etc.
- The ability to work with large datasets in SQL or NoSQL databases
- Understanding of REST and the ability to thoroughly test APIs for functional or performance issues
- Experience in manual testing for business and functional requirements on web and mobile platforms to find issues before release
- Experience with exploratory and load testing to ensure product robustness
- Experience documenting software defects using a bug tracking system and reporting defects to software developers
- Experience monitoring bug resolution and tracking successes
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and customer success teams to troubleshoot and determine tests with the best coverage for use cases and customer trouble spots
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) desired
- Proficiency in English (written and oral) is required
- Ability to work remotely in Mexico or in a hybrid position 1-2 days a week in the Reforma area of Mexico City
