Job Description
A Software Technical Lead at Alarm.com will oversee the development of video monitoring solutions, working across various technologies including media streaming, databases, and web/mobile applications, while mentoring engineers and managing projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor and develop the engineering team
- Develop full-stack software across various platforms and technologies
- Manage entire project lifecycle from requirements to deployment
- Research, evaluate, and apply new technologies and methodologies
- Take ownership of projects to ensure timely and successful completion
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to develop test plans
- Contribute ideas to product development and innovation
Requirements
- 8 years of professional experience in Software Development
- B.S. in Computer Science or similar engineering program
- Strong English proficiency with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Expertise in C and C++ programming languages
- Hands-on experience with media streaming video and audio using technology such as RTSP and WebRTC
- Proficiency with multimedia frameworks, preferably GStreamer
- Significant experience with database design and development
- Experience with creating and maintaining unit tests
- Passion for working with technology and excitement for creating high quality consumer technology products
