Job Description
The Senior Tax Accountant at Alarm.com will handle various corporate tax responsibilities, including compliance, tax provision, and working with external advisors to ensure accurate tax reporting and filings across multiple jurisdictions, while supporting process improvements and audit management.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with internal departments and external advisors to meet data request deadlines for tax compliance and reporting.
- Assist in calculating, documenting, and reviewing ASC 740 tax differences, disclosures, and computations.
- Coordinate with external advisors on federal R&D tax credit studies, including data collection and reconciliation.
- Prepare calculations for nondeductible foreign R&D costs and state tax credit applications.
- Support the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns and related workpapers.
- Review state income tax apportionment calculations and pro forma federal tax returns prepared by external consultants.
- Assist with income tax audits by gathering documentation and coordinating responses.
Requirements
- Three to six years of tax experience working in a public accounting and or corporate tax function.
- An accounting degree.
- Experience with Alteryx strongly preferred, particularly for optimizing complex tax calculations and transforming large volumes of source data into usable tax workpapers and summaries.
- Experience working with corporate accounting systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
