Job Description
The Senior Tax Accountant will manage various corporate tax functions, including compliance, tax provision, and reporting, while coordinating with internal teams and external advisors to ensure adherence to tax laws and optimize tax credits for Alarm.com.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with internal departments and external advisors to meet data request deadlines for tax provision and compliance related to federal, international, and state/local income tax filings.
- Assist in calculating, documenting, and reviewing ASC 740 permanent and temporary differences, income tax disclosures, and standalone income tax computations.
- Coordinate with external advisors on the annual Federal R D tax credit study, including data collection, reconciliation, and analysis.
- Prepare calculations for nondeductible foreign research and development costs.
- Support the preparation and review of workpapers for federal and state income tax returns and ensure alignment with financial reporting.
- Review state income tax apportionment calculations, state income tax returns, and certain pro forma Federal income tax returns prepared by external consultants.
- Assist with income tax exam management by gathering documentation and coordinating responses to auditor inquiries.
- Support internal tax process improvements and perform SOX controls as required.
Requirements
- Three to six years of tax experience working in a public accounting and or corporate tax function.
- An accounting degree.
- Experience with Alteryx, particularly for optimizing complex tax calculations and transforming large volumes of source data into usable tax workpapers and summaries.
- Experience working with corporate accounting systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
