Job Description
The Senior Accountant with a revenue focus will manage revenue-related accounting operations, ensure compliance with GAAP and ASC 606 standards, and collaborate across teams to support accurate financial reporting and process improvements in a fast-growing SaaS company.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and record journal entries for deferred revenue, accounts receivable adjustments, and contractual incentives
- Perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and flux analysis for revenue-related accounts
- Assist in preparing SEC reporting schedules and revenue disclosures for quarterly and annual filings
- Support quarterly and annual audits with relevant documentation and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and SOX control requirements
- Partner with Finance Systems to enhance ERP and revenue automation tools
- Identify process improvement opportunities in the order-to-cash cycle
- Collaborate with Sales Ops, Legal, FP&A, and Customer Success teams to resolve revenue issues and ensure contract compliance
- Provide deal structure guidance to optimize compliance and business outcomes
- Assist the General Ledger team in other accounting areas such as fixed assets, accruals, and intercompany transactions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in revenue accounting or public accounting for technology clients
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel pivot tables, complex formulas, and data modeling
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
