Job Description
The Data Analyst at Alarm.com is responsible for developing and automating reports, analyzing business data, and providing insights to support decision-making across various functions. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders, translating data into actionable intelligence, and contributing to the company's business intelligence and data management efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and automate reports to meet business intelligence and analytical needs
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish relevant metrics for monitoring business performance
- Gather requirements and work with product and engineering teams to deliver business metrics
- Interpret business data and analyze results to generate ongoing reports
- Provide data-driven analysis to support key business decisions
- Convert data science models into reports for analysis and consumption
- Communicate findings to all levels of the organization
- Train stakeholders in using reporting tools and analyzing results
- Set standards for data management and identify projects to address data gaps
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, or a relevant technical field; advanced degrees are preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience using SQL for data analysis.
- At least 2 years of experience developing MicroStrategy reports and dashboards, and familiarity with the MicroStrategy architecture.
- Demonstrated success when working cross-functionally and the ability to translate technical content to a general audience.
- Understanding of Data Management and the data lifecycle.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn new skills and tools and flexibility to accept a wide range of responsibilities in an innovative and entrepreneurial environment.
- Highly motivated, self-starter that can operate under minimal supervision.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
