Job Description
The Cloud Operations Administrator is responsible for supporting, monitoring, and maintaining Alarm.com's multi-site cloud and data center infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and operational efficiency across private, public, and hybrid cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain private, public, and hybrid cloud environments
- Apply and manage hardened configurations and system baselines
- Implement and maintain performance and availability monitoring tools
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues
- Develop and enhance automation scripts for operational efficiency
- Provide operational support to internal teams and stakeholders
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience working in private cloud environments.
- Familiarity with hyper-converged infrastructure and multi-site architectures.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server, including SCCM patching, clustering, DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory.
- Experience with VMware stack including vSphere, Horizon VDI, and Aria Suite.
- Basic understanding of storage systems such as NetApp and Pure Storage, including protocols like FC, iSCSI, NFS, and SMB CIFS.
- Experience with monitoring tools, both commercial and open source.
- Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Ansible.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions such as Rubrik.
- Experience with ITSM tools like Jira and understanding of ITIL processes.
- Working knowledge of Linux operating systems including Red Hat, Ubuntu, and CentOS.
- Ability to work in Agile teams and take initiative in problem-solving.
- Ability to perform hardware installation, diagnostics, and upgrades.
- Ability to manage structured cabling and maintain accurate documentation.
- Ability to support out-of-band management and coordinate equipment logistics.
