Job Description
The Senior Paralegal supports the legal, risk, and compliance functions of a global renewable energy company by managing legal requests, maintaining corporate records, conducting legal research, and driving process improvements to ensure regulatory compliance and efficient legal operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support legal operations by maintaining corporate records, managing legal documentation, and coordinating board materials.
- Lead legal request triage, contract review, and tracking to ensure timely and accurate responses.
- Assist with compliance monitoring by tracking contractual and regulatory obligations and supporting internal compliance resources.
- Conduct legal research across jurisdictions and monitor regulatory developments to provide insights for strategic decision-making.
- Support governance activities and improve document management systems for accuracy and compliance.
- Drive process improvements and adopt legal technology tools to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
- Manage legal budgets and contribute to the development of legal metrics and performance tracking.
Requirements
- Experience managing complex legal information with precision, structuring workflows to meet competing deadlines, and proactively identifying compliance risks.
- Ability to communicate clearly and build trust across legal, business, and external stakeholders to support smooth operations.
- Experience designing and maintaining compliant, confidential, and audit-ready legal document systems with strong version control.
- Experience leading workflow design and process improvements, tracking legal metrics, and enhancing team efficiency.
- Experience evaluating and implementing legal tech tools, training others, and leveraging platforms like contract lifecycle, compliance, and spend systems.
- Experience conducting cross-jurisdictional legal research and translating findings into actionable insights for strategic decisions.
- Ability to monitor and interpret regulatory changes, advise on business impacts, and support proactive compliance planning.
- Proficiency in supporting governance and legal operations by maintaining corporate records, coordinating board documentation, managing legal budgets, and improving document systems for accuracy and compliance.
- Experience supporting legal request triage and contract review, maintaining tracking systems, and enabling timely, accurate responses.
- Ability to conduct legal research across jurisdictions and prepare lawyer-reviewed insights and updates for internal stakeholders.
- Experience supporting compliance monitoring by tracking contractual and regulatory obligations and collaborating across teams to ensure requirements are met.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate corporate records and assist with file management, tracking contractual obligations to meet compliance standards.
- Proactive approach to process improvement and legal tech adoption to streamline workflows and support contract management, compliance, and spend tracking.
- Ability to support legal and compliance monitoring activities and contribute to internal compliance resources under lawyer supervision.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, triaging legal requests efficiently, and processing documentation accurately.
- Legal education or paralegal certification (implied by role as Senior Paralegal).
