Job Description
The Senior Manager, Compliance at Akaysha is responsible for developing and leading the enterprise compliance strategy, ensuring regulatory adherence across multiple jurisdictions, and supporting the company's operations in the energy storage sector through framework development, team leadership, and regulatory engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the enterprise compliance framework and strategy.
- Lead, coach, and build capability within the compliance team.
- Identify, map, and oversee regulatory obligations and compliance registers across all jurisdictions.
- Manage compliance with energy market rules, trading obligations, and competition laws.
- Coordinate compliance with the Australian SOCI Act and similar regimes internationally.
- Develop policies, conduct monitoring and assurance activities, and oversee training and incident management related to compliance.
Requirements
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve Akaysha s enterprise compliance framework and strategy, ensuring alignment with global best practice and scalability across all asset lifecycle phases.
- Lead, coach, and build capability within the compliance team, and act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and operational teams.
- Identify, map, and oversee regulatory obligations and compliance registers across all jurisdictions, including engaging with regulators and coordinating responses to audits and reviews.
- Manage compliance with energy market rules, trading obligations, competition laws, and oversee frameworks for market conduct and contract compliance.
- Coordinate compliance with the Australian SOCI Act and equivalent regimes elsewhere, including developing policies, conducting monitoring and assurance activities, and overseeing training and incident management.
- Design and operate an integrated, risk-based compliance framework aligned to global standards such as ISO 37301, suited to regulated energy and infrastructure businesses.
- Possess understanding of competition and antitrust laws relevant to energy markets and trading activities, with the ability to implement preventative controls and training.
- Have a deep understanding of energy market rules, participant obligations, and compliance requirements applicable to Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assets and market participation.
- Have expertise in compliance frameworks for trading activities, including regulatory reporting.
