Job Description
A Senior Cybersecurity Engineer responsible for implementing and managing cybersecurity practices across operational and corporate IT environments within a renewable energy company, focusing on threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and security tool optimization to ensure asset reliability and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and embed cybersecurity best practices across operational BESS sites to enhance security by design and reduce attack surfaces.
- Operationalize and optimize cybersecurity practices within OT BESS and corporate IT environments, considering their distinct security needs.
- Own and improve security platforms to analyze alerts, prioritize risks, and facilitate timely vulnerability remediation.
- Oversee penetration testing engagements for OT environments, ensuring effective planning, execution, and validation of remediation efforts.
- Enhance cyber logging, monitoring, and incident response capabilities to improve visibility and response workflows across IT and OT.
- Integrate threat intelligence into incident response processes for proactive defense.
- Lead cybersecurity incident detection, response, and remediation efforts across OT and IT environments.
- Design, operate, and manage security tools to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with cybersecurity frameworks.
- Evaluate vulnerabilities in systems and applications to inform risk management and remediation priorities.
Requirements
- Experience in leading cybersecurity incident response across OT and IT environments, ensuring effective threat detection, incident response, and remediation.
- Ability to design and operate security tools to drive security risk mitigations, and to ensure compliance with cybersecurity frameworks.
- Expertise in evaluating system and application vulnerabilities and interpreting their security impact to inform risk posture and remediation priorities.
- Proficiency in applying cybersecurity frameworks to guide control selection, risk assessment, and the design of security measures aligned to organisational requirements.
- Participation in an on-call roster to provide after-hours support for critical cyber incidents and urgent operational matters in accordance with company policies and incident response procedures.
