Job Description
The Director of Engineering at AIRCO leads the engineering functions involved in designing, developing, and supporting the commercialization of their carbon conversion technology for renewable fuel production, managing engineering teams, projects, and external partnerships to build large-scale plants.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the company's engineering strategy across multiple functions.
- Manage engineering design, equipment design, technical services, and sales support teams.
- Collaborate with development teams, EPCs, vendors, and construction firms to build renewable fuel and chemical plants.
- Provide engineering support for the commercialization of in-house technologies, including basic engineering packages and process design.
- Oversee project management to ensure engineering projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Recruit, develop, and set performance standards for engineering team members.
- Support internal and external customers with process design, quality, cost control, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead engineering support for future manufacturing plants.
Requirements
- BS degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- 15 years of chemical or fuel industrial experience in the chemical process development, design, technical services, and customer services
- 5 years of management role for an engineering organization
- Familiar with safety protocols for handling hazardous chemicals, and process HAZOP
- Experience in large engineering project management
- Experience in working with EPC companies and different type of vendors
- Ability to work proactively and independently with an energized team
- Experience with chemical process scale up and commercialization
