Job Description

The Director of Engineering at AIRCO is responsible for leading and managing the company's engineering functions, including design, technical services, and project management, to support the commercialization and scaling of innovative carbon conversion technologies for renewable fuel production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the engineering strategy across the company, including design, equipment, technical services, and sales support.
  • Manage multiple engineering functions such as process design, process control, project management, safety, mechanical and equipment design, and technical plant services.
  • Collaborate with technology development, EPCs, and vendors to support the commercialization of in-house technologies and oversee engineering support for plant production.
  • Provide project management for major engineering projects to ensure timely delivery within budget.
  • Recruit, develop, and set performance standards for engineering team members to support long-term growth.
  • Support external and internal customers and licensees by maintaining process design quality, cost control, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee engineering support for future manufacturing plants of Air Company.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 15 years of chemical or fuel industrial experience in the chemical process development, design, technical services, and customer services
  • 5 years of management role for an engineering organization
  • Familiar with safety protocols for handling hazardous chemicals, and process HAZOP
  • Experience in large engineering project management
  • Experience in working with EPC companies and different types of vendors
  • Ability to work proactively and independently with an energized team
  • Team player with passion on sustainable development
  • Ability to provide project management for major engineering projects to ensure the projects are delivered on time and within the budget
  • Support external and internal customers and licensees with cross functional partnerships to identify technology improvement needs, maintain process designs with quality, cost control, manufacturability, and compliance with all regulatory requirements
