Job Description
The Sr. Director of Engineering at Affinity leads the development and strategic direction of the company's CRM product, overseeing engineering execution, team development, and technical strategy to deliver high-quality, scalable relationship intelligence solutions for professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape the product roadmap by collaborating with product and design teams to establish a strategic vision.
- Lead engineering execution to ensure high-quality software development and a positive user experience.
- Develop and mentor engineering teams to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Create and implement a technical strategy aligned with business and product needs, focusing on usability, performance, and quality.
Requirements
- 8 years of experience building scalable web applications with large volumes of data and rich visualizations.
- 8 years in an engineering leadership role, with experience leading multiple teams through managers and team leads.
- Proven track record leading engineering within complex, customer-focused product environments in a B2B SaaS enterprise company.
- Experience developing, coaching, and managing engineering leaders, such as Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers.
- Experience leading engineering execution to ensure quality software and a delightful user experience through continuous, iterative development practices.
- Ability to develop and execute a technical strategy that aligns with business and product needs, focusing on delivering high quality, great usability, and fast performance across applications and APIs.
- Strong communication skills, including articulate, confident, and persuasive communication, coupled with the ability to listen and represent diverse perspectives.
- Experience working with a tech stack that includes React and TypeScript on the front end, and Ruby and PostgreSQL on the back end, hosted on AWS and running on Kubernetes.
- Comfort with embracing ambiguity, iterating quickly, and delivering incremental value each sprint.
- Ability to build a high-performing team through leadership, coaching, and mentoring, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Care personally about the people you work with, and about helping them to grow and develop in their careers, while also challenging them when necessary.
- Ability to balance short-term business priorities with long-term investment and strategy.
- A commitment to delivering an exceptionally high-quality product, ensuring outstanding functionality, platform performance, and reliability.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: 240,000 to 290,000 CAD
