Job Description
The Analytics Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data infrastructure and pipelines to support analytics and reporting across GTM functions, while ensuring data quality, governance, and security within BI tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data infrastructure and pipelines for analytics and reporting.
- Develop and manage Business Data Models (BDM) and ensure data quality, governance, and compliance.
- Build and optimize semantic layers, data transformations, and source-to-target mappings.
- Administer and support BI tools, including managing user access, security, and data connections.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and automated cleansing to ensure data accuracy and pipeline performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver curated datasets, document data lineage, and support ad hoc data requests.
Requirements
- Proficiency with data pipeline development, SQL, and cloud data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift, including ingesting and transforming Salesforce data via APIs or native connectors.
- Experience designing and managing Business Data Models (BDM) for data warehouse environments, incorporating Salesforce objects such as Accounts, Opportunities, and Campaigns for analytics and reporting.
- Familiarity with governance frameworks, data quality validation, monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and BI tool administration for platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce data management, including SOQL, schema understanding, and troubleshooting sync issues.
- Ability to partner with Sales, Marketing, and RevOps teams through strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience in developing, automating, and maintaining scalable data pipelines to ensure delivery for business analytics.
- Ability to develop, maintain, and enforce data modeling standards, including naming conventions and calculation methodologies, and to establish reusable semantic layers with standardized metric definitions and business logic.
- Experience in source-to-target mapping documentation for all data transformations and data flows, including managing change requests, impact assessments, and rollback strategies.
- Ability to assess and integrate new data sources into the BDM structure.
- Experience performing user acceptance testing and continuously refining pipelines for performance and scalability.
- Ability to establish data quality controls, audits, logging, root cause analysis, and automated cleansing to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and compliance.
- Implementing monitoring and alerting for data pipeline performance, error rates, duplication, maintaining SLAs, and proactive issue resolution.
- Governing access and controls for sensitive customer, marketing, and product data to ensure compliance with privacy regulations and security standards.
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation, including lineage tables, schema definitions, performance logs, and operational procedures for BDM and GTM solutions.
