A Photonics Test Development Engineer is responsible for developing and testing photonics components and systems, supporting the advancement of LiDAR technology for autonomous and perception applications.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement testing procedures for photonics components and systems.
Design and optimize test setups and fixtures for photonics devices.
Analyze test data to ensure product performance and quality standards are met.
Requirements
Experience in photonics test development, including designing, developing, and executing tests for photonics components or systems.
Proficiency in testing silicon photonics chips and LiDAR components, with the ability to develop test procedures and protocols specific to these technologies.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to photonics testing and measurement equipment.
Experience with optical measurement techniques, such as optical power, wavelength, and spectral analysis, relevant to photonics devices.
Knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, or similar) to develop and improve testing processes.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in photonics or optical component testing, with a focus on LiDAR or similar sensing technologies.
Ability to work in a team environment and communicate technical information effectively.
Physical ability to handle and set up optical components and test equipment in a laboratory setting.
