Job Description
The role involves managing and developing government partnerships to support Acumen's mission of addressing poverty and climate challenges through fundraising, proposal development, relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop existing and new government partnerships to support climate and poverty initiatives.
- Lead proposal development, including writing, budgeting, and responding to due diligence for new funding opportunities.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams on grant delivery, reporting, compliance, and dissemination of outputs.
- Engage with government partners through relationship management, calls, and oversight of reporting and deliverables.
- Organize and represent Acumen at key events, conferences, and meetings with government stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain stakeholder maps and conduct annual assessments of government partnerships.
- Research and identify opportunities for engagement with government audiences and support external representation.
- Track and evaluate the effectiveness of government partnerships and provide strategic recommendations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in fundraising, account management, or project management, ideally working with bilateral or multilateral donors.
- Grant writing and budgeting experience is essential and will be a core part of the role.
- Proficiency in managing and understanding project level budgets and forecasts.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to prioritize and deliver on time.
- Operational skills such as problem solving and project management, including the ability to work and deliver projects independently, proactively, and within deadlines.
- Experience supporting proposal development, including work planning, budget development, responding to due diligence, and contract negotiations for new business development opportunities with government funders.
- Experience supporting team in evaluating requests for proposals.
- Ability to develop and maintain stakeholder maps for existing government partners, including mapping multiple engagements across geographies and programs.
- Experience conducting research on events, conferences, and other opportunities for engagement with government audiences.
- Experience updating fundraising and communications collateral to incorporate new messaging for government partner audiences.
- Ability to support and coordinate with cross-functional teams including grant managers, finance, legal, communications, and regional teams to ensure compliance and effective delivery of grants.
- Experience coordinating engagement with government partners, including managing relationships, partner calls, oversight of reporting, and organizing high-level visits and events.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders with courtesy, tact, patience, and strong teamwork skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive, able to anticipate needs, create new systems and procedures, and take initiative without being asked.
- Effective at communicating barriers and recommending solutions up the line.
- Ability to develop and maintain stakeholder maps for government partners with multiple engagements and relationships.
- Experience conducting annual assessments of government partnerships and preparing analysis decks to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
- Experience representing an organization at external events, conferences, and workshops as needed.
- Authorized to work in the US or UK.

Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range in New York: $86,400 - $103,000 plus a performance-based bonus
