Job Description
The Investment Manager will evaluate and execute investment opportunities in the impact sector, manage portfolio companies, and support their growth and exits, with a focus on creating social and financial value in underserved communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate new investment opportunities and conduct due diligence
- Structure deal terms and negotiate investment conditions
- Manage and monitor existing portfolio companies post-investment
- Lead exit strategies for portfolio companies
- Identify and review pipeline of impact investment opportunities in the climate sector
- Prepare investment documentation for approval committees
- Build networks of impact funders and investors to support portfolio companies
- Support portfolio companies in governance, finance, and leadership
- Generate and document insights on portfolio performance for future reference
Requirements
- At least 8 years of overall work experience, with a minimum of 4 years of investment experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or investment management
- Experience with financial and operational due diligence of early-stage businesses
- Superior financial modeling and business analysis skills demonstrated by prior experience
- Familiarity with the social enterprise and impact investing sectors, demonstrating a commitment to serving the poor (preferred)
- Solid operational skills including problem solving and project management skills, including ability to work and deliver projects independently, proactively, and under pressure
- MBA degree (preferred)
- Authorization to work in India on a permanent basis
