Job Description
The Testing and Certifications Engineer will play a key role in developing, testing, and certifying innovative solar power products, supporting product validation, field testing, and certification programs to advance clean energy technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of product development and engineering
- Conduct product testing and validation, including field and lab testing
- Manage and lead certification programs for products
- Assist in design cycles and development initiatives
- Source and procure necessary materials and components
Requirements
- Manage all aspects of product testing and certification, including running mechanical test programs and field testing of Solar PV hardware.
- Experience with running certification programs, especially to UL2703 standards.
- Support product development and engineering activities, including product design, CAD technical drawings, and supporting design cycles and initiatives.
- Support all aspects of product validation, including field and lab testing.
- Manage and lead certification programs related to the company's products.
- Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
- Have proven experience working in test labs and certification programs.
- Experience in managing all aspects of product testing and certification processes.
- Experience in field testing of Solar PV hardware.
- Experience in running mechanical test programs.
- Ability to work in a high-paced startup environment.
- Proficiency with computer and workplace software tools.
- Willingness to travel 5-15% to sites as needed for testing and validation activities.
- Ability to support sourcing and procurement activities related to product development.
- Physical ability to perform field testing activities (implied by the nature of field validation work).
