Job Description
The Welding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Weld Department during the assigned shift, ensuring safety, quality standards, and productivity while leading the weld team in the repair and modification of turbine engine components in the aerospace industry.
Responsibilities
- •Oversee the safety and well-being of the team.
- •Monitor assigned work and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- •Adjust job assignments to meet production schedules.
- •Utilize software for tracking and monitoring job assignments.
- •Motivate and coach team members.
- •Manage personnel work hours and schedules.
- •Conduct performance reviews and employee development.
- •Collaborate with trainers and managers for employee development.
- •Conduct regular department meetings.
- •Communicate changes affecting employees.
Requirements
- •A minimum of two years experience in a supervisory role or similar in a manufacturing environment or aviation maintenance setting.
- •Experience in understanding and following verbal and written instructions accurately, including the reading and interpretation of technical drawings and work scope instructions.
- •Successful completion of skill specific TIG welding courses from an approved technical or welding school and/or a minimum of two years TIG specific welding experience.
- •Previous certification credentials in an AWS welding classification, with AWS D17.1 preference.
- •High School graduate.
- •Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- •Basic knowledge of computers and standard software programs.
- •Experience in interpreting and applying basic shop math and the use of measuring devices.
- •This position has pre-employment testing requirements that may require fitness for duty testing and a vision exam.
- •Follow general shop safety procedures including the occasional use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and hearing protection.
