Job Description
The President of Acumen will lead the execution of the organization's strategy, translating the CEO's visionary leadership into actionable plans while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. This role requires a dynamic leader committed to solving poverty through impact investment and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- •Collaborate with the CEO to establish strategic priorities aligned with the organization's vision and mission.
- •Develop and implement the global operational strategy to execute against strategic priorities.
- •Lead, inspire, and mentor high-performing teams across geographies and functions.
- •Drive financial planning and management to ensure the organization's financial health and sustainability.
- •Support compliance and governance, monitoring contract negotiations and overseeing risk management processes.
- •Oversee the management of sponsored funds in collaboration with the Chief of Ventures.
- •Develop products and raise funding for organizational initiatives.
- •Drive visibility and connect with diverse audiences through marketing and communications.
- •Measure the impact of work and distill insights to reinforce Acumen's position as a thought leader.
Requirements
- •Proven experience in senior, enterprise-wide leadership roles and a strong track record of operational management, strategic planning, and execution in a growing organization.
- •Alignment with Acumen's mission, investment principles, and values, demonstrating a deep desire to understand the challenges and leverage the opportunities of poverty alleviation and social impact.
- •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders internally and externally.
- •Demonstrated commitment to ethics and dignity in all aspects of work, ensuring compliance with local laws and fostering a culture of respect and fairness across a global footprint.
- •Strong capability to operate effectively across various functions and regions, leveraging influence within a multilateral organizational framework.
- •Substantial cross-cultural experience, ideally gained from living and working in a variety of global environments.
- •Evidence of the ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.
- •Proven track record of exceeding goals and delivering results.
- •Understanding of finance and budgeting, HR, technology systems, strategic development and planning, public relations, and marketing.
- •Legally authorized to work in the US.
- •Readiness to travel approximately 10-20% to connect with global teams, with additional travel in the first 12 months to familiarize with global teams and program activities.
