Job Description
The SQL Server Solutions Architect will design, validate, and document innovative SQL Server solutions, collaborating with various teams to address real-world database challenges and align solutions with organizational strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, validate, and deliver SQL Server solutions.
- Create technical documentation including reference architectures and best practices.
- Build and validate SQL Server solutions in a lab environment.
- Present solutions to customers and internal teams, translating technical details into business value.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, and marketing teams.
- Develop messaging and technical content with the marketing team.
- Plan and publish professional technical documents on schedule.
- Understand customer database challenges and deliver practical solutions.
- Communicate effectively with various audiences.
- Manage multiple priorities and tasks in a dynamic environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in database architecture, SQL Server solutions, and related technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL Server, including performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, configuration, and security best practices.
- Understanding of block, file, and object storage protocols e.g., FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB, S3 and their application in SQL Server environments.
- Expertise in platforms where databases reside, including public cloud AWS, Azure, GCP, virtualization platforms VMware, Hyper-V, and operating systems Windows, Linux.
- Ability to design, document, and validate comprehensive database solutions that address technical and business needs.
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery methodologies tailored to SQL Server environments.
- Proficiency in query tuning, indexing strategies, and optimizing database performance.
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows administration.
- Skills in PowerShell, Python, or similar languages for automation and proof-of-concept development.
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities for database and OS performance issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to both technical and executive audiences.
- Demonstrated adaptability to learn new technologies and respond to evolving organizational needs.
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced setting with minimal supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks within a dynamic work environment, ensuring timely and effective delivery of projects.
