Job Description
The Corporate Pre-Sales Systems Engineer will support the inside sales team by serving as a technical advisor, assisting prospects and customers with product demonstrations, system configurations, and addressing technical inquiries to facilitate the sales process.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist prospects and customers with demonstrations, system configurations, and technical questions.
- Remove technical barriers in the sales process through opportunity qualification and product demonstrations.
- Respond to communications from customers, resellers, and management regarding product applications and pricing.
- Demonstrate technical leadership and expertise on storage products and competitive offerings.
- Create Account and Territory Plans for key accounts.
- Proactively follow up on proposals, leads, and customer requests to drive sales growth.
- Provide customers with product performance solutions using established programs and sizing tools.
- Apply critical thinking to resolve difficult customer situations and escalate when necessary.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to define product requirements and usability.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science (CS), Electrical Engineering (EE) or other technical degree and/or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience in the technology industry or other relevant technical experiences.
- Strong phone presence and experience in a high-volume customer interaction environment.
- Ability to collect data, identify problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Preparation and delivery of technical product and architecture presentations.
- Knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN.
- Solid knowledge of VMware, Windows, UNIX OS variants including Linux and AIX, NFS file systems and network environments.
- Exhibit strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and proactively while applying a high level of business and technical acumen to a variety of situations.
- Demonstrated listening, written communication and product presentation skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects in real-time scenarios.
- Domestic, overnight travel 5-10% of the time.
